Gay works as the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse for the Grampians region hosted at Ballarat Health Services Victoria and has done so for 5 years. Her work involves providing support to men and their families in all areas of prostate cancer care. This includes being of point of contact to assist with accessing services both in the hospital and community, providing reliable information and coordinating the care of men living with prostate cancer.
Gay has an extensive 38 year nursing background within a variety of clinical settings throughout Australia with a particular focus on urology and education. Gay qualified as a Primary school teacher in 2007. She combined her nursing and education qualifications to work as a Nurse Educator and Coordinator of the Enrolled Nurse Traineeship program at Ballarat Health Services Centre for Education and Training unit for 6 years prior to her current role.
