Making a Difference - Trial e-file Systems and Patient Reported Outcomes

Date: Monday 11 November 2019
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Clinical trials research professionals are warmly invited to attend a Clinical Professional Day Workshop on November 11th prior to the COSA ASM in Adelaide.
The morning session will be presented by Ms Eleanor Allan, who for more than twenty years has specialised in clinical research training that focusses on process improvement and quality management. Eleanor will explore the benefits and challenges of implementing electronic files, providing an understanding of the key considerations when setting up a system. There will be interactive discussion sessions and case studies to demonstrate the issues associated with electronic filing as well as help participants to identify the significant benefits and develop preventive solutions to overcome common challenges.
Patient Reported Outcome (PRO) research provides unique information on the impact of cancer and cancer treatment from the patient’s perspective. The afternoon session, led by Dr Claudia Rutherford and Dr Rachel Campbell will address all aspects of PRO research from inclusion in trial protocols to the implementation of PRO tools and data collection in site practice to optimise data quality and minimise missing data. Attendees will gain technical and practical skills to more efficiently and effectively integrate PRO research into everyday workflow. A PRO checklist developed by the QOL Office will be provided. Be prepared to share your own challenges and bring your questions!
